What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Area Of Injection?

Hi, i donated blood three days ago with the red cross and now i have a sharp tingle that starts from the injection site and goes down my arm . At the time of the donation, the phlebotomist injected the needle so hard that I felt severe pain and then she moved the niddle little back and started drawing the blood.

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

The process of drawing blood you mentioned is correct. No need to concern regarding that. Regarding tingling sensation, There is the possibility that the needle may have irritated a nerve. In most cases, this can heal with time.

However, if the tingling or neurological symptoms persists, you may want to consider a neurology referral to consider electrodiagnostic testing.

This option can be discussed with your personal physician.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Wish you good health. Thank you.
