What Causes Tingling Sensation In Left Thumb, Palm And Arm?

I am a 61 year old female. over the past few weeks I have been experiencing sensations in my left thumb and outer palm traveling my forearm to my upper arm. the sensations feel like when you have been sitting with your legs in one position and then you stand and you get that tingling sensation. it comes and goes with no seeming cause and lasts from a few seconds to as long as a 35-45 seconds. sometimes I can go for days without experiencing it and other days it comes and goes for a couple hours.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello....Tingling sensations like you have described are probably normal.
But I suggest you to get your Blood sugars checked to rule out Diabetes which can cause Peripheral neuropathy causing your symptoms
and an ECG to rule out MI which can rarely present as pain /tingling sensation which could be limited just to your arm or forearm and palm.
If they are normal there is probably nothing to be worried about
Take care.
