I have been in pain for the last week ... It started with tingling in my cheek/ face and down the left side of my arm. I have been to the doctors two times two days in a row. The first day I explained the symptoms and he did some brief test and told me I had an ear infection that which was causing the tingling in the face as far as my arm he said it was probably the way I sleep gave me an antibiotic amoxicillin and sent me on my way I took my moxa Sillen I went on my day woke up went to work as I was at work I was getting the same pain down the left side of my body but even stronger it scared me so I went back to the doctor this time seeing another doctor in that same office he ran some test said it s not an errand faction while my ear was a little red and now I have blood work and some x-rays of my spine . He has given me ibuprofen for the pain and vitamin day I m not feeling very confident and people that are looking at me although all my reflexes are still there and they say that it s nothing I m still concerned because I normally don t feel this way at this moment It feels like somebody kicked me under my shoulder blade the tingling in my face a stop but under my shoulder blade is extremely sharp pain what is the problem I don t want to go to the hospital because I don t have the money please advise

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tingling sensation in face and arm along with shoulder pain because of nerve impingement or pressure on facial nerve which can lead to facial paralysis or bell's palsy .

But the symptoms can also occur due to cervical spondylosis and bruxism . Visit neurologist once and get it examined to rule out nerve compression , neuralgia or other conditions like neuropathy. Go for physical therapy of facial muscles and shoulder . Avoid opening mouth extreme wide while jawing.

If it is not due to nerve and due to dental infection then consult dentist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe OPG of .It could be related to stroke. In case of sinusitis consult ENT specialist and take steam several times a day . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for condition like cervical spondylosis .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
