What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Legs After An Injury?

I was injured at work on 2/18/17 while pushing a booth into place it got caught upon the tile, causing it to hit my chest and left me with excruciating lower back and abdomen pains. 3/5/17 at work while bending and lifting various items felt sharp pains in lower back. 3/7/17 at work felt tingling in right leg then it went stiff then numb almost fell (concurring numbness depending on weather and how much movement) since then noticed back brace hurts. Tshirts if fitted hurt, touching my tailbone/lower back hurts. Havent gotten much sleep bc Im not comfortable, some headaches occur, get a ringing feeling in ears. And I just was informed almost 3 months pregnant.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all its sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, the symptoms are neuropathic in origin and may have been caused by injury to the vertebral column during that incidence as you explained.

X-rays of lumbar and cervical spine may help to diagnose any signs of collapsed disc and chances of nerve compression. Such compression can be worsened by pregnancy. Detailed orthopedic review and OTC analgesic like acetaminophen will be helpful. Keep using Folic acid and B12 as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
