What Causes Tingling In Fingertips, Headache And Swollen Tongue?

my 25 year old son (typically very healthy) started complaining a week ago about tingling in his fingertips, headache, numb/swollen tongue, occasional mild headaches. He went to the doctor and they did blood work and found he has a severe B-12 deficiency. He has been on a B-12 supplement 0f 1,000 mg for about 48 hours now and was feeling a little better this morning but since this afternoon he has been complaining that his left leg feels week and now he feels very nauseous (he said upset stomach and compromised vision). Do you think this is all related to the B-12 deficiency or should we be concerned about something else?

Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain the symptoms experienced by your son are classical symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency and points towards Pernicious anaemiaand the weakness in legs as well as tingling of finger tips and swollen and smooth tongue are all due to it..
You can take injectable and oral supplements of Vitamin B12 and along with it you can also take more of eggs, dairy products, cereals and multivitamins to cover up for the deficiency along with medicinal supplements..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
