What causes tightening of chest & back?

I am in the middle of painting a house on the interior, twice now I have had sudden chest tightening that lasted about 10 minutes or longer, the tightness spreads to my back as well and makes me feel that I need to blow up my lungs with air. I am 39 female 48 kegs healthy. I am wearing a mask.
What could this be?

Thanks for your question on HCM. I think you should get done ECG and chest x ray first to rule out heart and lung cause. If both of these are normal, it is just a muscle pull. In paintaing hand movement are such that can cause muscle pull. So you may have muscular pain.
Better to take rest and avoid movement s causing pain.
Take good painkillers and muscle relaxant.
Apply warm water during bath to the affected area.
Wear chest belt during such activities as this will cause minimal movement and less pain.
