Hi,

Oral thrush can be caused by many reason. Surely reduced immunity is one of the important reasons, others being, antibiotic abuse as you have undergone 2 major surgeries, local diseases of oral cavity, some autoimmune disease, diabetes and so on.

First of all consult your Doctor to confirm whether this is really a thrush or just coating of the mucosa. Get treated as per the causes and effects are understood after clinical examination, local examination, lab report. Till then keep oral cavity healthy. Do not overdo anything. You can apply anti-fungal oral paste if it is OTC in your country. Otherwise, the doctor will prescribe you proper management in such a case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
