What Causes Throbbing Pain In The Sternum?

Yes, Hello. I ve been noticing a throbbing pain just to the right of my upper sternum and under my pec. and seemingly in my rib bone or between the soft tissue in there. It occurs mostly at night and when I m sitting and after a meal. I ve noticed this pain for some months now. Any thoughts?

Hi welcome to health care magic....

You are having right sided chest pain...

Your physical examination done and palpation also done for looking if any pushing filled lesion present...

Cardiac cause seems less likely here but work up needed as follow....
-Auscultation
-blood pressure measurement
-EKG
-Chest x ray

If specific cause found treated accordingly..
For ex. For infection antibiotic course needed

If no specific cause found than pain could be muscular for which ibuprofen drug and hot compress useful...
