What Causes Throbbing Pain And Swelling In Throat?

I have been experiencing a weird pain in my throat and it is sometimes warm to the touch, it also feels swollen with throbbing pain . I have noticed that the back of my throat is red. I have no pain when swallowing food. I am 31yrs of age, 1.7 m tall and a smoker. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

The symptoms which you are experiencing suggests me that you may be having inflammation of the mucosa which has lead to edema of the mucosa lining the throat.

As you are a smoker, definitely it has got a very important role in causing these symptoms. The smoking along with the presence of infection further deteriorates the condition.
I would suggest you to follow
1.Avoid Smoking
2.Salt water gargling
3.NSAIDs
4.Oral Antibiotics for five days.

These remedies will help you to control the symptoms and make you more comfortable.
Thank you.
