Hi..
Thanks for the query..
As per your complain numbness of tongue, loss of taste as well as
sore throat, feeling of lumps and coughing are all related to Gastro-esophageal reflux disease commonly known as
Acid reflux..
As the acid refluxes from the stomach to throat and mouth it causes inflammation and burning sensation in throat and due to swelling there is feeling of lumps in throat as well as sore throat and irritation causes dry cough..
The acid also causes chemical burning of the tongue leading to damage inflammation, burning sensation, numbness and damage to the papillae causing loss of taste sensation..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and get treated for acid reflux..
The physician can advise you to take
Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole,
Pantoprazole.
Take antacids before meal..
Take a high fibre diet and take small portions of food every 2 to 3 hours..
Avoid heavy and spicy meals..
Sleep with head raised as compared to feet and recline in left lateral position..
Drink plenty of water..
If you are
overweight loosing weight can help..
Chew a sugar free chewing gum after meals as it will increase saliva flow and will ease symptoms of acid burning..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
