What Causes Throat Irritation And Tinnitus?

i have had from 6 months now a need to clear my throat and a irrated soft pallet. I recently have tinnitus in my left ear and have had a vertigo attach lasting a couple of hours. I have been treating this as possible sinus/ hay fever over this time. I do not have any heartburn. Could this be gerd not sinus problems.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms are unlikely to be GERD, as Gerd can cause throat burning and irritation but do not cause ear pains and tendinitis.

Your symptoms are more related to your throat problems like an allergy or post nasal drip.

We generally recommend antiallergic like Zyretic for this along with avoiding dust and smoke. However, if it's for 6 months it's better to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
