What Causes Throat Aches While Singing?

hello madam, my throat aches when i sing. am part of a church choir, i have noticed this pain existing from past a year or so.. at times its severe, at times mild. The intensity of pain increase with the pitch. could you help me with some suggestions please?

Hello.

There can be many causes for such a presentation like a vocal polyps, laryngitis, etc.

Your doctor will require a detailed physical examination along with the visual examination using a mirror at the back of your throat and may be even an acoustic test. Please check in with your doctor at your earliest convenience. In the meantime, make sure you use sufficient and more amount of lubrication for your vocal cords in the form of oil, etc.
