What Causes Thin Lining In Lungs?

Sir my son went for medical checkup for a job, all tests were ok but doctor said the chest x ray shows a thin lining in lungs which may be because of some bacterial infection and asked to take cifran 500 mg tab two times for 5 days and again come for x ray...will the next x ray be ok i am worried..pls advise..

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion it can be due to infection. And the treatment ,he is taking contains antibiotic.
So get done repeat chest x ray after completion of antibiotics. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry much and no need for further treatment.
But if chest x ray is same or worsening than consult pulmonologist and get done
1. CT thorax
2. Sputum culture and sensitivity.
3. If sputum is not available than get done bronchoscopy and BAL (Bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis.
In pneumonia , treatment should be guided on organism. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
If he is improving than no need to worry.
