What Causes Thick Coating Of Yellow Substance On Tongue?

Yesterday I had a thick coating of yellow hair like substance on my tongue, I scraped it off with a tongue scraper. Today, I've had a sore throat as well as some pressure/slight pain the the base of my skull as well as a headache. I've taken Tylenol as well as ibuprofen, but nothing seems to help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to upper respiratory infection. Antibiotics will be required for this. In such case if you were my patient I would recommend antibiotics like Co-amoxiclav or Azithromycin. You should also take more fluids. Taking warm chicken soup with pepper and lemon tea will be helpful also. You can also take chewable vitamin c which will help in fast healing.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
