What Causes The Sudden Increase In The Cholesterol And Triglycerides Level?

Hello Doc, I have not taken my Niaspan for two weeks and I just got my blood test results today and everything is sky high. Tri's at 1168, Cholesterol 307, HDL 31, Chol/HDLC Ratio 9.9, Direct LDL 170. I'm waiting on new Niaspan RX to come today and will resume taking Niaspan. Could that effect those numbers that much. In April my Test results were a lot lower, Chol 207, Tri's 500, HDL,LDL in range. But, I also ate a fried chicken breast and cottage cheese for lunch 3 hrs before test because I didn't know Doc was going to draw blood, my error. Could that hurt results big time also. I am on Crestor, Fenofibrate,Niaspan and 3 BP pills. This is the owrse my results have been ever. Thanks for your comments.

HI THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR QUERY ON HEALTH CARE MAGIC.

YOU SEEM TO HAVE VERY HIGH LEVELS OF TRIGLYCERIDES.

THIS SUDDEN SURGE CAN BE DUE TO INTAKE OF FRIED CHICKEN AND COTTAGE CHEESE 3H BEFORE THE TEST.

I STRONGLY REFRAIN YOU FROM SUCH UNHEALTHY MEASURES.

DRUGS LIKE STATINS AND FIBRATES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN YOUR CASE.

I SUGGEST YOU TO HAVE A SCREENING 2D ECHO.

CONSULT AN EXPERT CARDIOLOGIST FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

THANK YOU,
TAKE CARE
