I was told last week I had ketones in my urine and that this may have been caused by dieting over the last couple of weeks and maybe not drinking enough. I have upped my liquid intake and do feel significantly better but the bottom of my back is still achy - do I need to get the ketones levels checked again in case it is something more long term?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* As per my surgical experience, the commonest possible conditions for ketones in urine are infection, diabetes.
* Kindly take a repeat test for the same and consult with both reports in follow up session. Till that time, continue to consume plenty of liquids.
