What Causes The Outbreak Of Cold Sweats And The Urge To Vomit?

In the early morning (during clinical for my BSN degree) -- I will suddenly break into a coldsweat. I feel nauseous and have the urge to vomit. This is maybe after two hours of being awake and about an hour into my clinical. I always eat breakfast (cereal), so I can t be hypoglycemic. It keeps happening anywhere around 7:30 - 8:30am of my 7am-3pm clinicals. It just bothers me, because I have to excuse myself for five minutes. People think I am queasy at what I am seeing in the hospital -- but I am not! Ever. I don t have any conditions. No family history of anything. I m 20 years old; 5 3 and 118lbs. I don t eat fast food, I don t drink pop -- I don t know what I m doing wrong here!

HI thanks for posting your query on health care magic.

Your symptoms resemble 'TROPICAL OR INFECTIOUS SPRUE",which commonly results from bacterial infection of the intestines.

Foods particularly cereals can prove this condition.

It can be diagnosed by small intestinal biopsy.

Antibiotics like Metronidazole can help.

Antiemetics like Ondem taken twice a day will control vomiting.

Consult an expert Gastroenterologist for further assistance.

Thank you,
Take care
