What Causes The Need To Frequently Clear The Throat?
My son had his enormous tonsils removed when he was 14 months old. He is now 9 years old and in the last year he has developed a chronic need to clear his throat. Our pediatrician, at 2 separate consultations concluded that it is merely a nervous habit. I don t believe it is and it is becoming increasingly irritating for my son, who complains all of the time. Could it be some residual scar tissue that is causing mucuous to collect in his throat, causing the throat-clearing response?
