What Causes The Left Testicle To Become Larger?

I was recently diagnosed with a perineal abscess on lower left butt cheek. A drain was put in on the left side near rectum to remove the fluid. I recently noticed now that my left testical seems to be larger and hang lower, with an occassional dull pain. Why would this be? Could it be from the abscess?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
You already have a perineal abscess on the left lower butt cheek with a drain tube.
The swelling of the testicle on the same side can be due to infection of the scrotum, testis and / or epididymitis, although this is rare to have infection inside the scrotum so easily.

I would advise you the following:
Ultrasonography and color doppler examination of the scrotum and the abdomen for urinary system in particular.

Get properly treated and see an Urologist if required, as General Surgeon must be looking after you.
