What Causes The Finger To Turn Black & Blue?
On Saturday evening, the top joint of the ring finger on my right hand turned black and blue and want a little uncomfortable. This has happened in the past also and goes away. I iced it a bit and over the next few days the bruising traveled down three quarters of that finger. This afternoon I have pins and needles (tingling) in the tip of that finger and the finger is just slightly lighter in color that the other ones. What causes these symptoms? Also note I am moving this weekend, so I ve been packing a lot. Thanks.

Right Ring Finger-with Reynaud's Syndrome- with precipitate blue/ black cyanosis with ICING done by you.Tingling / pins / needles is from revascularisation -a sign of recovery.
Other Causes of such episodes needs to be ruled out like Throbo-angitis obliterance(TAO)with cholesterol emobilisation with obesity.
Smoking and Tobacco chewing also could be accompanying reasons.
Consult Physician / and get the Color Dopler study to rule out the peripheral arterial diseases and treat it with vasodilators /and needful drugs.
