Our beloved 23 year old son passed away last evening. He was found by his 30 year old sister. She said he was blue. The coroner's office has stepped in and we won't have any results for several weeks. Is there any sort of easy answer as to why he would be blue? He was a severe asthmatic, but had been doing so well for the last several months. We are devastated and just looking for any preliminary possible cause. Thank you so much.
The blue discoloration implies a reduction in oxygen level in the tissues. If he had a severe attack that was non responsive to treatment then this is a possible cause but the examination by the coroner's office would be able to tell you if this is the likely reason.
