What Causes The Appearance Of Freckles On My Arms?

Hi i wanted to ask if it was normal to have freckly like dots on my arms? I seem to have had these for a long time. Although they do not stick out nor are they painful, they make every hair which grows on my arm very visible. is there any way to reduce the appearance of these freckles? i have already tried frequent exfoliation as i initially thought it was dirt trapped in the hair follicles but it seems unlikely as it hasnt made a difference

Hi,

The sun and fluorescent tanning lights both emit ultraviolet (UV) rays, which when absorbed by the skin enhances the production of melanin pigment by cutaneous melanocytes.

People with blond or red hair, light-colored eyes, and fair skin are especially susceptible to the damaging effect of UV rays and likely to develop freckles. A freckle is essentially nothing more than an unusually heavy deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
