What Causes The Absence Of Heart Beat At 5 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
hii........i m pregnant and but in pregnancy test idoc said its late positive than we waited for i week than went for b hcg test and result was 1661 than same test repeated after 48 hrs than result was 2254 it was not double ,then doc asked me to go for ultrasound.according to my first day of period my pregnancy should be 7.5 weeks but through ultrasound shows pregnancy of 5.1 weeks with no heartbeat............doctor again told me to wait for 1 more week for another ultrasound......please answer what,s happening??

-The series of events & investigation reports suggest possibility of an early fetal loss / chemical pregnancy/ missed abortion. This is a condition where a non viable pregnancy stops progressing, but the hormones production does not stop. This makes late +ve pregnancy test , a less rise in blood hormones(chorionic gonadotrophin) & fetal growth arrest with no heart beats.
- To avoid haste & wrong diagnosis, your doctor has advised to wait & repeat sonography after 1 week.
- There is nothing to be tense about. Such thing happens once in while. Though you need some precautionary investigations/ treatment as per your doctor's advise.
-With proper care/ medical guidance, next pregnancy will be normal.
