The heart has a biological equivalent of an electrical wiring system. A special area of the heart, the sinuatrial node is the first component of the conducting system of the heart. It is the pacemaker for all of the contractile tissue. From it the impulse originates which passes down the conducting system controlling the beat. Vascular damage or simple oxygen lack may cause it to stop.

I am 19 years of age and two days ago I woke up and felt my heart beating fast like I had a bad dream. But then it completely stopped then beat 1 hard time almost like it was having trouble pumping, it is happening very commonly now, almost every other minute, could this be life threatening
Every few weeks I get a flutter in my heart. Not a fast heart beat, but a fluttering back and forth.. I don t think it s pumping, just fluttering. After about 5 seconds of this I start to feel faint and almost pass out. Fortunately, ever time this has happened the heart self corrected and began to beat normally. But I am scared that at some point, it won t stop and I will pass out and die. I have no insurance.. what can I do?
I was doing yard work in the heat (Southern Louisiana). Since then, my heart beat rises when I stand and skips beats. It stops when I lie down. BP is 130/85. I take baby aspirin. I m drinking a lot of water and made a juice of veggies and fruits. Do you have any other suggestions?
