What Causes Tenderness In The Roof Of Mouth?

The roof of my mouth is extremely tender / soar. When I run my tongue across it feels like shards of glass. It is mostly in the very front of pallet near the front teeth. This has happened before. The soreness comes and goes but the feeling of shards are almost constantly there. I have rinsed with oxy something. Its an oral rinse to heal sores in mouth. It gives me temporary relief. I'm taking ibuprofen, but when I sleep at night its extremely painful. Please Help?

As per your complain it seems that there is severe inflammation of the roof of the mouth near the teeth and can be due to causes like allergic reaction to any food or medication while eating sour and acidic foods or bulk intake of hard foods can also cause similar symptoms.

It can also be due to bacterial infection over the roof of mouth..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like oral swab culture, blood tests can help in confirming the diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now gargle wIth numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Take anti allergics like Levocetrizine..
Drink plenty of cold water and avoid spicy and hard foods..
