What Causes Tenderness In Breast And Nausea Post Tubal Ligation?

I had a tubal ligation a little over 5 years ago and recently have experienced nausea and last week had some breast tenderness with clear drainage and some white milky discharge with no odor. Yesterday was the day of my period due and I took a hpt clearblue and got a pregnant result. A couple hours later I spotted brown bloody mucus discharge for a few minutes and stopped a little later I had severe back cramps I started bleeding heavy bright red blood I had lab work yesterday and Dr let me know today my quant hcg bold test came back a little over 1. Was this a miscarriage or never pregnant? Concerned cause of the tubal ligation and afraid of ectopic pregnancy

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
A positive pregnancy test turning out to be negative after few days can be due to miscarriage.
A previous history of tubal surgery can cause ectopic pregnancy.
I suggest you to consult a gynaecologist and get an ultrasound abdomen.
In addition blood levels of beta HCG may also be required on alternate days.
Tubal pregnancies do not cause rise if beta HCG levels as seen in uterine pregnancies.
The associated breast tenderness is caused by hormonal imbalances and can be seen in variety of conditions like in pre-menstrual period, during implantation or even during tubal pregnancy.
Back tenderness can also occur in above mentioned conditions.
White milky discharge from nipples is seen in last trimester of pregnancy nearing term, in hormonal disorders like elevated prolactin levels etc.
Consultation with your gynaecologist is necessary.

Thanks and take care
