What Causes Tenderness And White Stuff Accumulation In My Tonsils?

Hello Doctor! Today while I was brushing my teeth, I noticed that my tonsils were tender...not in a lot of pain but I know that it could possibly get there. There is also some white stuff sitting on my tonsils and i can feel my tonsils on my tounge...Do you know what this could be? What could happen?

Hello,

As per your query, you have tenderness and white stuff accumulation on tonsils which is due to chronic tonsillitis and tonsil stones which are like presence of bumps over tonsils and are formed by deposition of debris over the tonsils and after their calcification.

Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. If tonsil stone is small, remove them manually and large stones need surgical removal.

Take antibiotic Azithromycin along with multivitamin and take paracetamol combination for relief of symptoms of fever. You can do warm saline gargles and soda bicarb gargles for removing the debris from tonsils. Maintain proper oral hygiene.
