What Causes Syrup Color Urine After Taking Disodium Hydrogen Citrate During Pregnancy?
hello sir ,I am 5 months pregnant and had my regular check up including the urine analysis and this month test shows that there are epithelial cells positive and plenty of pus cells and I also have pain in lower abdomen and a severe heat sensation in vagina..and my Gyneo recommended me DISODIUM HYDROGEN CITRATE BP SYRUP(ALKASOL) and a tablet named NITROFURANTOIN (100mg) and another tablet named ISOXSUPRINE CAPSULE (40mg),and after having this syrup there is a change in color of my urine it is same as my syrup color..is it normal or not...?is it is a kidney infection? whether this medicine is enough to cure my infection..?sir I am really tensed...so please help me to cure my problem..

hi,you are having urinary tract infection.you are on the right medication and this is enough to treat your infection.it is normal to experience change in the urine colour and it is not because of alkasol but because of nitrofurantoin when urine color becomes deep yellow to orangish to brown.since you are taking this medication now there is nothing to worry.untreated urinary treat infection is the one which causes complications including miscarriage.take care and all the best.
