What Causes Syncope With Vertigo And Hiccups Sense?

I am a 16 year old girl and I have had occurring spells of vertigo(dizziness). I have also had the hiccups sense late November. I have done some research on these two things being in common and I have come up with lateral medullary ischemia. I have noticed that it only occurs in people much older than me. I have also passed out and had a short sesure. My fathers side o the family is diabetic and my mother is epileptic. Could this be caused from either of those and do you have any suggestions for what could be wrong? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is a possibility of you being epileptic. You should do an EEG and maybe an MRI or CT scan. Also, the electrolytes and blood glucose levels should be checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
