What Causes Syncope With Parageusia And Breathlessness?

I was exposed to fumes from several theatrical lighting instruments in an enclosed space a few weeks ago. After trying inhalers and steroid treatment my lungs look clear. However, I still have issues with feeling faint when I am at all active, a metallic taste in my mouth, coughing up metallic tasting watery stuff, and shortness of breath that comes with the faintness. What could this be and what tests could be done to figure out what it is?
