What Causes Swollen Vein On The Palms After Playing?

I was just having a gentle game of tug a war with my dog and a couple minutes later the palm of my hand started hurting really bad. When i look at it, the big vien that runs kinda staight across my palm is blue and raised in the center (size of a penny) and it hurts. Could this be a blood clot? Is it dangerous? What should i do? I am 32 year old woman, take citalopram, synthriod and serequel and birth control. I smoke a pack a day, am 5foot7inches, 150lbs and am healthy overall
