What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck And High Fever?

Have been feeling very sick for 4-5 days. Swollen lymph nodes in neck, high fever 101-103 that continues to return (taking acetaminophen every 4 hour) rash, very achy and tired Dr prescribed antibiotics (cefuroxine axetil 500mg) which I took for 3days but stopped today because of rash Prednisone (6-5-4-3-2-1) Lymph nodes not quite as swollen but fever continues to spike and I feel like a truck ran over me ! Mono and Lyme came back negative , liver function normal waiting on throat culture Any idea what this could be ?

Hi
Went through your post understand your concern, as is indicated by your history you are suffering from acute throut infection which is causing cervical lymph node enlargement, most of the times it is viral infection and some times bacterial, I would suggest you continue antibiotics till you get throut swab culture, you can take azithromycin 500 once daily if you are allergic to cefuroxime, mean while take plenty of fluids.
I find this answer helpful
