What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Groin Area?

I had kidney cancer 17 years ago . Three years ago I developed what the dr called a hernia in what I understand is my inguinal area. This caused me no problems unless I ate grapes !! I have been for an ultra sound and was told no hernia but enlarged lymph glands each side . The swelling which was thought to be a hernia is flat when I lay down and when I stand it feels like fluid . Very soft and moveable . I am obviously concerned about this
