What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In People Post Quitting Smoking?
I had quit smoking cigarettes for about 2 weeks and in the time of that I was coughing everything up well I go to sleep one night and I wake up and coughed and sneezed at the same time well I hear a pop when that happend and 15 to 20 minutes later I was spitting up a little blood well I got all that out of me and went to the hospital they said it was strip throat in the mean time of that I found a swollen lymph node on the side close to the front of my neck and it gives me pain every now and then I don t have night sweats I m not losing weight I m not tired and I don t get full off of a small meal is there any idea what this could be please give me some advice
Certainly any inflammation or any infection can cause swollen lymph nodes. THey do not immediately go down when the infection is gone. A chest x-ray would generally be done if someone was coughing up blood. And It is quite common as the lung heals up after quitting cigarettes to have some gunk come out of the lung. It can go back down the wrong way or be irritating and cause mild inflammation. ONE node that is declining in size is unlikely to have much meaning.
