What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes And Pain Under Jaw?
Under my left side of my jaw aches. I felt for swollen lymph nodes but it seems normal. It s tender to touch and has a dull ache. It starts at the jaw joint to a little left of my chin. A couple days ago, it hurt to turn my neck, but that s better now. Some chills but no fever. I m a 43 year old woman.
As per your complain it seems that painful swollen gland/lymph nodes under the jawbone that might have caused difficulty in turning the neck and also history of having chills can be due to Submandibular lymph node enlargement or submandibular lymphadenopathy caused due to infection in head and neck region while can also be due to viral infection..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral surgeon or an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray, MRI Scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of infection a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers along with cool compresses can help.. In case of lymphoma chemotherapy and physiotherapy can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
