What Causes Swollen Lump Under The Jawbone Along With Pressure In Ear?

I have a swollen semi hard lump under my jaw bone, tender. Went to doctor for something else and they said I was a swollen lymph gland, and probably nothing to worry about, allergies. But it doesn't seem to be getting any worse and now I feel pressure in my ear. Is this something serious and what can I do about it?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a swollen semi hard lump under the jawbone that is tender seems to be swollen submandibular salivary gland and in case if you have pressure in the ears it seems to be most probably due to ear infection..
Other causes of swollen submandibular salivary gland can be tooth and gum infections, throat infections etc..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Biopsy/FNAC can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case if you have an ear infection you can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, antibiotic and analgesic ear drops and do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lymph nodes..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
