What Causes Swollen Lips In A Stroke Patient?

hi, my father had a stroke at the base of his brain ( on the more rightside of his brain). it s about a month and a half ago. And most things are for the better, but i keep seeing that his lip on the left downside is swollen when he is getting tired, the more tired he is the bigger the swelling.. now is my question if this is stroke related and a commen sympton? he already had this a week before his stroke and wasn t taking medication at that time but the swollen lips make a very frequent comeback. sorry for the bad english

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
For any stroke patient it's a common thing that difficulty in speech as well one side of the face muscle tone is affected and so that many time it looks like the face is swollen or some times if upper face muscle tone is good only the lower face like lip area looks swollen. But don't worry it goes of with time with most of the cases. But still if it persist I suggest to consult a neuro doctor or your physical therapist. Take care....
