What Causes Swollen Leg/feet With History Of Toes Cut Off By Push Mower?

My daddy is having trouble with his feet and legs swelling about two times more than what they are suppose to be.My queston is/he had two or three twos cut off by a push mower about twenty years ago; I was wondering if that could have something to do with his swelling in his legs?

not relevant probably to the old lesion ...
get his kidney fu actions tested and if there is any coloration or change in temperature... it must be assessed for vascular issues ..
