What Causes Swollen Labia?

the other day, i realized my labia was swollen. its only the left one and (because I m paranoid,) i parted the labias and saw a scratch on the side with the swelling. theres an obvious difference in the labia sizes, and i m too scared to talk to my mom about it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Mild bruise or swelling can occur in case of vaginal infections which can occur due to scratching or altered vaginal pH. Any foul smelling or curdy white discharge should be ruled out. These symptoms can be reduced with antibiotic use and proper vaginal and personal hygiene.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
