Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain sore throat and swollen gums can be probably due to bacterial or viral infection in throat and inflammation in throat can inflame the gums as well leading to swelling..
In case if there is infection in the gums as well the swelling can be even more pronounced..
It can also be due to herpes virus infection..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and along with a thorough clinical evaluation he can advise you to get investigations done like throat swab culture to rule out for infection..

In case of infection he can advise you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do warm saline gargles and chew vitamin C lozenges..
Application of antimicrobial oral ointment over the gums and gargle with an antiseptic mouthwash can help in relief..
Scaling of teeth can further help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
