What Causes Swollen Gums After Endoscopy?

I had endoscopy 10 days ago...since then my gums are terribly swollen on one side and I can't eat at all on that side. Went to dentist and he orescribed Magic Mouthwash? It's not helping at all. What should I do and what did the gastro dr do to me?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain swollen gums after endoscopy can be either due to trauma to the gums or gum infection leading to inflammation and swelling..
There does not seems any other relevant cause for gum infection after endoscopy..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if there are infectious deposits present over the teeth scaling has to be done followed by a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers..
Apply an antimicrobial ointment over the gums and massage gently.
Gargle with a concentrated solution of chlorhexidine mouthwash.
Do cold compresses over gums or suck ice..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
