What Causes Swollen Glands And Sore Throat Despite Taking Antibiotics?
Hi - I have swollen glands, sore throat, ESR of 20 and microcytic hypochromic blood results. My doctor has given me several batches of antibiotics and they have given me thrush and still the glands and sore throat persist. I am taking oral Iron tablets. Anything else I should do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen glands and sore throat despite taking antibiotics which is something you should be concerned about. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and go viral culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. You should take anti inflammatory medications . You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food. For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water. You should avoid smoking completely as it is exaggerating your symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
