What Causes Swollen Ankles/feet?

I just turned 63 in relatively good health. Last week I drove 1800 mile min two days and when I got home my ankles and feet were swollen more than normal and have remained that way as well as being sorer about 6 days. I have not experienced this before.

Good evening sir. The swollen feet and ankles after a long sitting in your age could be due to varicose veins or venous insufficiency. That is the blood and lymph does not get transmitted properly due to the same position and get s deposited there. You should get a venous Doppler done for your legs to see if the veins are competent enough. Try raising your legs(like putting them over 2 pillows) and sleep. That will help drain the fluid against gravity.
