Three days ago I had a pedicure at a local salon. Yesterday after an hour of cardio activity, the right side of my big toe was red, swollen and very painful to the touch. I have since soaked my foot in Epsom salts and applied Neosporin. This evening after a long soak I was using a nail tool to try and detect if it was the beginning of an ingrown toenail due to the cutting performed on the side of the nail. I did see some pus while exploring . My question is, is this most likely an infection or the beginning of an in grown toenail (also infected). Should I continue to treat at home? Thank you
