What Causes Swelling On The Penis Of A Child?

grand baby 19 months old has swelling around his penis, not his testies, just the area around and it is quite painful, as putting on a diaper is a real hardship . or wiping him clean, he won t allow it,, wondering what this may be and my daughter has mentioned one other time he was seemingly having alot of pain and assumed it was irritated from diapers as it went away and he was fine, this was 3 months ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your child's problem can be allergic reaction to diaper or due to insect/ant bite on the area. Better to rule out that by showing your GP or pediatrician. Avoid diapers for some days. Wash the area with saline and apply calamine lotion. Change the diaper you are using with a hypo allergic type next time also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
