What Causes Swelling On Roof Of The Mouth And Throat?

I threw up quite a bit on Sunday early morning at about 1AM. I've barely eaten anything the only thing that stayed down and didn't hurt swallowing was ice cream Sunday evening. Now the roof of my mouth feels swollen the back of my throat feels swollen and when I try to swallow solids I feel like the food gets stuck in my chest and it hurts real bad. It's now Tuesday morning and I'm still feeling the pain, will it go away?

Hello thanx for the queiry.palatal swelling could be due to abcess caused duevto periapical or periodontal etiology.you might also have swollen tonsils and enlarged lymphnode, hence painful on swallowing solid and liquid food.i advise you to do salt water gargle and drink warm water.get xrays done to check for the infected tooth.kindly consult your oral physician and ent specialist,if problem persists.. Hope it helps..take care..
