What Causes Swelling Of Throat And Painful And Bleeding Gums?

I have had severe swelling in my throat and lymph nodes, my gums are painful and bleeding. My tongue and lips are erupting with canker sores and my lower lip is swolen with a blister. I have very good oral hygiene. What could be the problem and how long can I expect these symptoms to last?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain swelling in throat and lymph nodes can be due to severe infection and inflammation in throat leading to Acute Pharyngitis and inflammation in gums and bleeding along with canker sores seems to e due to Apthous stomatitis causing inflammation and ulcer formation inside mouth..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers steroids and warm saline gargles and steam inhalations..
Gargle with a numbing mouthwash to relieve pain..
Take multivitamin supplements..
Take a soft diet and avoid spicy,chilled and hard foods..
In case if there are any deposits over gums scaling can help in reducing inflammation and infection..
As far as a sore on lip is concerned in case if it is on the outside of the lip you need to get checked for viral infection causing cold sores[ herpes] and get treated accordingly with oral and topical antiviral drugs..
