What Causes Swelling In The Upper Lip?

Hello, after working in the yard yesterday my upper lip swelled up a lot. No pain, no problem breathing or swallowing. This morning the lip swelling seems to have gone down a bit but my cheeks are also swollen. Taking benedryl and had my daily allegra pill. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms are suggestive of allergic reaction only..
May be you have got bitten by some bug or insect leading to allergic swelling.
Painless swelling can be due to allergic reaction to some food also.
As you have already taken allergy pill and you do not have any complications like breathing or swallowing problem therefore you can wait and watch for the allergy symptoms to subside.
You should also do cool compresses over the swelling and drink plenty of water..
In case if there is no improvement consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
