What Causes Swelling In The Left Eye Of A Toddler?

Hi, I took my 2 yr old in the piol yesterday, and this morning, he woke up with his left eye almost completely shut and very swollen. The swelling has.gone down, but I am wondering if you might have some insight? I have some eye drops left over from a prescription for pink eye (prescribed to my son), and I am wondering if that might help along with saline drops? Thanks!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Pool water is highly infectious in nature.
Your son has mostly developed stye (eyelid infection) because of contamination from pool water.
So better to consult ophalmologist and get done clinical examination of eyelid. If swelling is large then surgical incision should be done.
In mild cases oral antibiotics and warm water pad application to eyelid is advisable.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
