What Causes Swelling In The Foot After Peroneal Tendon Surgery?
Hello I just had perineal tendon surgery about a 6weeks ago ,they just took me out of my cast two days ago, and into a boot for 6 weeks. My concern is my foot is really swollen and red Evernote up the calf,is this normal? I have my boot off when I m home to elevate and ice. Q
The residual swelling may indicate that the surgical area is still inflamed or may be a sign of infection that needs treatment. It would be best to be assessed by your doctor. If an infection is present then a course of antibiotics should clear it up.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
